In the book Green Graphic Design (2009) Brian Dougherty uses the layers of an Avocado to insightfully define the power of Green Design.
The Avocado is broken down into three distinct layers. The outer layer is the stuff, which is everything that is tangible in Design such as paper and print. The meat of the Avocado represents the message being relayed through the design. “This is the realm of the brand and information” (Brian Dougherty 2009). The core of the Avocado is what excites us the most at Lineart, it represents CHANGE.
As Designers and Strategist we have the power to change minds and ultimately make the world a better place through our creations. An image or single word can transcend an entire book if designed effectively.
The Avocado Theory offers leverage to think beyond the tangible and into what our true goals as GREEN Designers are. It makes our team at Lineart feel like super heroes because we know through effective design we can CHANGE THE WORLD.
Our goal as Creative Strategist is to spread positive messages and inspire companies to become Socially Responsible. No matter how BIG or SMALL your company is- YOU CAN make a POSITIVE DIFFERENCE to your world in some way. We want to work with you and distinguish how you can contribute to society without sacrificing the success of your business.
Does anybody fancy Guacamole?
